London Fashion Week came to a close today with a whimsical walk through the sunny Hyde Park tents with Burberry Prorsum SS2014 collection. With spring in their steps, graceful fresh faced models made their way down the *sun filled* runway wearing dusty rose, buttery yellow, mint, and earl grey tinged blue. Sheer lace and eyelet fabrics were adorned with chunky gemstone and crystal embellishments that glistened on everything from transparent vinyl capes, to rain slickers, and skirt suits. Like sugared violets caught in a web of spun sugar, the jeweled slinky pencil skirt was the must have-must see item of the afternoon. Luxurious and eye catching: today’s Burberry babe is the perfect confection of Bold and Beautiful.
Spearmint and pistachio were the flavors of choice when in came to accessories: statement healed sandals stacked like the tiers of a wedding cake, while Sylvia Weinstock-esc petals adorned soft clutches in every pastel shade. And the classic Burberry trench was yet again re-imagined, this time taking two forms: an ultra lady-like garden party silhouette and a slouchy menswear-inspired drape.
