Dressed Down Downtown: NYFW Look 3

Yellow and Gray Sweater Dress, ASOS *on sale* // Tritone Allie Sandal Stilettos, Sam Edelman also LOVE these // Levin Clutch in Green Black and Gold, Kotur Ltd // Shades, Chilli Beans // Nails, “Style Cartel” by Essie Polish
As temperatures fluctuate, toying with humidity, heat, and showing the first signs of fall, dressing for the day becomes increasingly difficult. And if your closet is anything like mine, it’s looks like a 2 season storm has hit! But I actually love this transitional time, as it allows me to cling to some of my favorite summer pieces, and combine them with my new fall friends. And if one is silver and the other’s gold, then this summer-studded sweater dress is the ultimate precious metal.
I bought this ASOS dress anticipating to layer it with charcoal tights and boots, a mustard or olive trench, and even pairing it with my favorite grey cashmere scarf, gloves, and beanie when the winter winds and snow arrive. So I was psyched that this comfy and casual dress could provide a much needed color pop to a packed day of shows and presentations during NYFW. These Sam Edelman sandals are just high enough to flatter and show off my still tan legs, but just low enough to allow me to race from meeting to show without the ache and pain of an evening heel. Try experimenting with pastel notes this week (like the light yellow or minty green above) and use a gray sweater, dress, suit, or pant as the base, as the entire pastel range looks great when mixed with gray. Opt for silver jewelry or something sparkly and you’ll have a successful transeasonal ensemble to get you through the work day, a week night, and into the last September weekend…
