In the wake of Monday’s Met Gala, I’ve been dreaming up reasons, excuses, and searching for an occasion to don a gorgeous gown and feel like a princess walking down some red carpet somewhere. That is until I realized that my reason is already hanging in my closet, and that, thanks to this spring’s wonderful full maxi skirt trend pioneered by Shabby Apple‘s gorgeous creations, I no longer need any excuse to dress and feel like a princess.
The stunning Shabby Apple blue and white maxi skirt you see above is one of the most timeless and elegant pieces I have ever come across. It’s luscious fabric is slightly weathered so that it almost looks chambray in some light and then bright sky blue in another setting. Lined with two layer of tulle, the skirt sits just on your hips, fitted to allow perfectly for supporting the big skirt. Because of the expert tulle layering, the top fabric lays in such a way that it almost appears pleated, but when it catches the breeze, the skirt becomes truly ball-gown worthy.
I cannot say enough about this elegant and effortless look for spring and summer. The fabric weight is light enough to keep you cool, but with even just a simple white crop top, tank, or v-neck t, you instantly have a look that is show stopping and camera ready. Check out the wonderful variety of full maxi skirt from Shabby Apple here and fall in love with skirts this spring.
