Summer weekends for me are all about exhausting my casual wear. I love being outside for almost every second of every day, so if I’m not in running or workout clothes, I’m throwing on a pair of short shorts, rocking denim, and slipping into any soft-sexy t shirt I can find. This simple look is classic and comfy: it always screams all-american summer, and truly requires nothing more than a great pair of aviators and a soft summer shoe.
While in Maine this Fourth of July holiday we did some rock combing at low tide along the shores of Mount Desert island, combing… as in more hopping and explore than rigorous hiking, and I loved being able to pull out these fabulous soft leather native american style boots I actually found in Ibiza several summers ago. Summer weight flat boots are wonderfully practical for hikes, trail walks, and festival days as they protect your legs from muddy terrain, bug bites and brambles, but they also allow you to wear a flat that helps elongate your legs. And when you are sporting short shorts, the longer the leg the better!
