It’s rare that I become so obsessed with a single piece when it comes to summer fashion. It the hot summer months I change my outfit several times a day and run through fabrics at record pace, and seldom can I keep coming back to a piece in my wardrobe that is just endlessly perfect for so many occasions, needing very little to style and accessorize it. So when I came upon the “Selma” dress from Liz and Honey I couldn’t believe how many times I kept checking up on the website to see if it was restocked and available!
For me the Selma dress has everything I love about this season’s trends: the boho bell sleeves, the geometric print mixed with embroidered flowers. Throw in the perfect length, drape, and neckline, and a light durable fabric, it’s practically perfect for the most down right sweltering of days and smallest of suitcases. It has a certain understated glamour that screams of day trips along the Amalfi coast, but can catch the approving eye of any sundown saloon goer at sunset cocktails. And my favorite part of course has to be the ultimate Affordable Editorial price:: this gorgeous summer staple is only $35… enough said.
This particular evening I was on my ways to girls night at our favorite local wine bar in West Palm Beach, and so platform heels seemed like a no brainer, but while in NYC last week I paired the dress with a black leather jacket and black gladiator sandals for a downtown spin on this down south gem.
